Government By Tea Partiers
Flushing Township, Michigan is an early case study: “Even communism looks good on paper,” said Zimmerman, 55, who manages a chain of hardware stores. “Even though I agree with some of their ideals, there’s no compromise when you’re dealing with a revolutionary.” Gardner, who founded a countywide tea party, said that was the point. “That’s… Continue reading Government By Tea Partiers

Harry Gave ‘Em Hell
Reid did something Democrats almost never do: instead of apologizing for his party, he ran against a person with a habit of making crazy statements by hitting hard, again and again, with ads calling her a crazy person. It was very rude and uncivil. And it worked. From Harry Gave ‘Em Hell Now if we… Continue reading Harry Gave ‘Em Hell

Five Thirty Eight
I read this blog religiously during the last election cycle. It used to be independent, now it’s part of the NY Times. His claim to fame is his detailed statistical analysis and resulting accuracy – he doesn’t just look at poll results, he actually looks at the historical accuracy and bias of each pollster and takes that into account when determining what the likely result of the election is.
The end result: in 2008, he correctly predicted 49 of the 50 states for the Presidential election and was 100% accurate for the Senate results. Not bad.
538 is worth reading on just about any polling data.
Wall Street’s best friend is The Tea Party
Even though few things enrage Tea Party rebels more than government checks made out to Wall Street financial companies, the reverse dynamic does not seem to be a problem. Even more amazing is… Continue reading Wall Street’s best friend is The Tea Party
