One of the things which is completely obvious but not allowed to be spoken is that everyone agrees that representation matters. And everyone agrees that identity is important. But most importantly, everyone agrees that institutions can be biased.
So the uproar about woke beer is of no surprise to me. Conservatives demand that their beer represent them. That beer must echo the symbols of their identity. And the companies that make the beer can not be ignoring people like them.
I call this Wokeservatism. The collection of grievances about perceived bias, perceived lack of representation and perceived suppression of their identities. And it is the dominant form of conservatism in the US.
