Giuliani Claims He Kept Texts From State Dept. To ‘Protect’ Himself

Remember in 2016 when the GOP thought that the threat that Hillary might have State Department communications on private devices was enough to disqualify her and the possibility that they might end up outside to control of the State Department was enough to justify red faced screaming “lock her up”? Some people might start to think those concerns about cyber security in 2016 were not in good faith.

So how did Rudy get those? Who sent them? Will there be an investigation? Will the GOP show even the slightest concern about private devices being used for State Department communications? Of course not. They never cared.

“Giuliani also repeated his claim that the State Department had approved of all his communications with Ukraine–and that he had five or six more texts in his back pocket as proof.

“I’m going to use them to protect myself if and when I need them,” he told CNN.”

Is Lindsey Graham unaware that we have had two years of personal email use go un-investigated or is he unfit for office?

“Any American out there who did what Secretary Clinton did, you’d be in jail now,” Graham declared. “The question I want to know is, does anybody other than me believe that?”

Wow is this amazing. Can he really think this is true or is he just bullshitting? We’ve had two years of non-stop security scandals from this Whitehouse and he is either ignoring or ignorant of.

From Sept 25th 2017 in the NY TImes:

At Least 6 White House Advisers Used Private Email Accounts

Mr. Kushner was not alone. Stephen K. Bannon, the former chief White House strategist, and Reince Priebus, the former chief of staff, also occasionally used private email addresses. Other advisers, including Gary D. Cohn and Stephen Miller, sent or received at least a few emails on personal accounts, officials said.

President Donald Trump’s voter fraud commission came under fire earlier this month when a lawsuit and media reports revealed that the commissioners were using private emails to conduct public business. Commission co-chair Kris Kobach confirmed this week that most of them continue to do so.

From WaPo, November 19th 2018

Ivanka Trump sent hundreds of emails last year to White House aides, Cabinet officials and her assistants using a personal account, many of them in violation of federal records rules, according to people familiar with a White House examination of her correspondence.

And this is an incomplete list.  I didn’t cover Pence’s email problem or the cabinet members or the half dozen issues with people failing security clearances.

Opinion | Yes, family separation is bad. But what about Hillary Clinton’s emails?

Ah, so it’s “regular order” to have the umpteenth hearing about a now-private citizen’s emails, but you’re “pulling” a stunt if you talk about the Trump policy under which border guards are reportedly telling parents they are taking children “for a bath” and the children never return.

As children are separated from their parents, GOP congressmen run an old play.

The GOP is insane.
